A collaboration between Epic Beer and Brewaucracy delivers a bold new hybrid — a nod to tradition with modern drinkability.
New Zealand brewers Luke Nicholas of Epic Beer and Greig McGill of Brewaucracy have created what appears to be a world-first beer style — the India Pale Mild.
Blending the rich, malty comfort of an English mild with the hop intensity and aroma of an IPA, the duo’s creation reflects the way people drink today — flavour-forward, but lower in alcohol. At just 3.5 % ABV, their new beer, cheekily named Hat Sammich, delivers full hop aroma and satisfying bitterness in a lighter, more sessionable package.
Why "Hat Sammich"? Well, it kinda tastes like the kind of Marmalade Sandwich Paddington Bear would always keep in his hat for emergencies!
